While there are many excellent quarterbacks that will play in 2022, some are better than others. My Top 5 quarterbacks of 2022
Bryce Young, Alabama
Bryce had am incredible season leading the Crimson Tide to am 11-2 record defeating after going 1-1 against the Georgia Bulldogs. He completed 2020 with 366 of his 547 passes for nearly 5,000 yards. He threw for 47 touchdowns, 7 interceptions. His longest pass of the year was 94 yards. He was awarded the Heisman Trophy.
2. CJ Stroud, Ohio State
CJ will be a Heisman favorite going into the 2022 season. He had an amazing season during 2021 finishing 11-2 with losses to Oregon and Michigan. He completed 317 of 441 passes, for nearly 4,500 yards. Threw 6 interceptions and 44 touchdowns.I fully expect Ohio State to be a playoff contender this year.
3. Caleb Williams, USC
Caleb Williams transferred from Oklahoma to USC to continue playing for Lincoln Riley. I think he will pose a dangerous threat to the Pac12. He completed 136 of his 211 passes for nearly 2,000 yards in 2021 at Oklahoma. I expect similar numbers, if not better at USC.
4. Bo Nix, Oregon
I know some are going to be like what the heck, and I understand. He did have some mediocre performances at Auburn. He completed 197 of 323 passes for over 2,200 yards. He also poses a threat to run with 168 yards on 57 attempts. He is also credited with 4 rushing touchdowns. I fully expect even better numbers at Oregon.
5. Stetson Bennett, UGA
Bennett had an incredible season in 2021 leading UGA to a 14-1 record and a National Championship after falling to the Crimson Tide in Atlanta. He completed 185 of his 287 passes for 2,862 yards and 29 touchdowns. The biggest concern for me will be how does Kirby Smart rebuild the defense. Offensively the Bulldogs should be a playoff contender once more in 2022.
